5 Ways To Improve Brain Power Dramatically

Pick any method that suits your lifestyle and begin from there, it take’s some time to stick with new habits and a little bit challenging as well.

But, trust me, it is truly rewarding to know that you can improve your brain ability to function by sticking to this.

Anyway, the fact that you are reading this you are now halfway there.

1.          Pranayama  breathing  technique

Pranayama or the yoga of breathing-alternate nostril breathing is thought to balance the left and right sides of the brain.

Calm anxiety, mood swings, and stress.

A good respiration technique will calm the brain function, providing for more relaxation and, if done before bed it provides a better sleep.

Brain vibrates at full capacity when you are in a calm state. You can focus more when your mind is calm.

These are the simple instruction that I personally follow every morning before my morning run:

1.     Place the right hand "peace fingers" (the pointer and middle finger) at the third eye centre. This frees the thumb to close the right nostril and ring finger to close the left.

2.     Take a deep breath in through both nostrils.

3.     Exhale out the left for the count of four, using your thumb to close the other.

4.     Inhale left for the count of four.

5.     Hold the breath in closing both nostrils for the count of four.

6.     Exhale out the right for the count of four, using your ring finger to close the other.

7.     Inhale right for the count of four.

8.     Hold the breath in for the count of four.

9.     Left exhale for the count of four.

2.          Physical exercise improves brain power

Several studies and researches prove that a single exercise session can help enhance our cognitive abilities and improve mental focus better than a cup of coffee can.

These are the 3 simple exercises that I personally do and it does make me feel great!

1.     Jumping jacks

Help to pump your blood which is packed with oxygen in a hard and fast rate which improves its supply to your brain.

2.     Running

Research came up with evidence strong enough to prove that running enhances our cognitive function and helps the brain tremendously.

3.     Weight training coupled with resistance exercises

Systematic studies that were conducted to assess the influence of weightlifting exercises showed a highly positive impact on brain capacity, alertness, attention, and memory.

3.          Yoga

Twenty minutes of yoga’s improves your brain function on speed and accuracy of the mental processing to a greater degree than 20 minutes of others exercises.
Yoga helps improve mental health, including psychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety, attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and schizophrenia.
These are some of a few yoga’s moves you can try on:

4.          Real-World Brain Exercises

Get away from your computer, laptop or phone! Go out there and do some brain training that involves real-world activities.

Here some lists that I can recommend to you:

1.     Test your recall.

Make a list things to do or anything else that comes to mind and memorize it. An hour or so later, see how many items you can recall. Make items on the list as challenging as possible for the greatest mental stimulation.

2.     Let the music play.

Learn to play a musical instrument or join a choir. Studies show that learning something new and complex over a longer period of time is ideal for the ageing mind.

3.     Do the math in your head.

Figure out problems without the aid of pencil, paper, or computer; you can make this more difficult and athletic by walking at the same time.

4.     Take a cooking class.

Learn how to cook a new cuisine. Cooking uses a number of senses: smell, touch, sight, and taste, which all involve different parts of the brain.

5.     Learn a foreign language.

The listening and hearing involved stimulating the brain. What’s more, a rich vocabulary has been linked to a reduced risk of cognitive decline.

5.          Eat well

Not just your physical health but your mental health also gets affected by what you eat.
Nutrition plays a very significant role in brain and body health and can shield you from ailments and illnesses

Here are 5 foods that affordable and which I know are going to give an ultimate boost to your brain power:

1.     Whole grains- help improve concentration and focus
Like everything else in your body, the brain cannot work without energy. The ability to concentrate and focus comes from an adequate, steady supply of energy.

2.     Fish Oil- help promote healthy brain function
The most effective omega-3 fats occur naturally in oily fish in the form of EPA and DHA. These fats are important for healthy brain function.

3.     Nuts- help protect healthy brain function
A good intake of vitamin E might help to prevent cognitive decline, particularly in the elderly. Nuts are a great source of vitamin E.

4.     Broccoli- help improve brainpower
Broccoli is a great source of vitamin K, which is known to enhance cognitive function and improve brainpower.

5.     Eggs- help delay brain shrinkage
B6, B12 and folic acid there was significantly less brain shrinkage. B-rich foods like eggs.

Take care of your brain as it is to look after your body. Therefore, it is your job to make due changes in your lifestyle for a sharp brain.
